January's box...

In January's box, we gave you a taste of what Cornwall has to offer.

We've all heard of the traditional fudge and Cornish cream tea, but you may not have heard of Cornish Biltong or vegan Get Fruity Bars. This month, we discover the different tastes of the Duchy, yum!

January:

Crib - Cornish dialect for 'snack'

This month’s box featured must-have snacks that would make a great addition to your morning crib and help kick start your 2019 the right way. Plus, as this was our first ever Little piece of Cornwall box we wanted to make sure you got a taste of a wide selection of brands, from some of Cornwall’s oldest, most well-established brands to some of the more recent ones that are yet to be discovered. Let’s take a look….

You’ll need to pop the kettle on because our first product comes from Cornish Tea. If you’re a tea lover like us, you’ll love the taste of this Cornish Smugglers Brew. The Smugglers Brew is designed as an all day tea, so you don’t have to just have it with your crib; it will also make a nice addition to your afternoon cuppa as well.

Pair your lovely cup of Cornish Tea with an Original Cornish Fairing from Furniss Biscuits. The fairing is a traditional favourite down here in Cornwall and the Furniss fairing recipe has been handed down from generation to generation, so it’s a well established and perfected taste. The spiced, crunchy biscuits are quite moreish, so we’ve linked their website in this post just in case you want to purchase another packet or two. Both Cornish Tea and Furniss Biscuits are well-established brands, have been known in Cornwall for many years and are firm favourites here in the Duchy.

Next we have some healthy alternatives that will give you all the nutrients you need to help you keep those healthy New Year’s resolutions on track. You’ve probably spotted the vibrant colours from the Get Fruity packaging – this brand hasn’t been around for long but has already made a huge name for itself! Vegan friendly, gluten free and packed with real fruits and rolled oats, these delicious bars can be found on the shelves in places like Waitrose, Holland & Barrett and Tesco, as well as on their website. We’ve also included a great high-protein snack from the Cornish Biltong Company. This unique brand produces high quality handmade biltong from the finest Cornish beef! It’s really flavoursome and sure to keep you fuller for longer.

The last product that you’ll discover is a fab little jute bag from the Cornish Jute Bag Company. Perfect for transporting your lunch to work, these little bags come in all shapes, colours and sizes. We’ve picked this one as it fits perfectly in to our gorgeous gift boxes, but they have a huge range to choose from – just head over to their website to browse the collection.

So that’s it for January’s box, we hope you enjoyed it! Don’t forget to subscribe to our mailing list to be the first to hear about what’s inside the next box, plus any exclusive offers or discounts available – our email subscribers will always be the first to know!
